The Spanish AWC & EO Qualifiers

The Spanish
AWC & EO
Qualifiers for Intermediate and Large in Sanxenxo with Galican

What a weekend!

On April 12–13, 2025, Sanxenxo – that charming little gem on the Galician coast – became the Agility capital of Spain. The club Paws by Patas hosted this year’s AWC and EO qualifiers for the Intermediate and Large categories – and of course, we at Galican were there not just to watch.
Our equipment was right in the middle of the action – and oh boy, there was plenty of it!

Two days full of goosebumps & world-class courses

Early in the morning, coffee in one hand, leash in the other… Spain’s top teams were ready – and you could feel it in the air: this was big!
The courses designed by judges Sina Just (Germany), Marko Mäkelä and Mona Liljegren (both Finland), and Héctor Ramirez Vega (Spain) were no joke. Technically challenging, fast, full of clever turns – and packed with heart-pounding moments. There was cheering, nail-biting, celebrating – sometimes all at once. And right in the middle of it all: Our Galican obstacles, doing their job like champions. 😊

Our equipment in action

It’s always something special for us to see our obstacles on the big stages of the Agility world – but it’s even better watching dogs and handlers run and take them with such trust, precision and speed.

  • Slalom? Textbook perfect.
  • Dogwalk? Smooth as butter.
  • Tunnel? Some dogs were breaking the sound barrier (well… almost 😉).

Community & emotion

Once again, Sanxenxo reminded us: Agility is so much more than just a sport. It’s emotion, passion, and a big extended family. People hugging after a great run. Trainers cheering for teams they’ve never met. And somewhere, there’s always a dog barking – because the excitement is high, and everyone wants to get on that course.

And then there are those unforgettable goosebump moments – when everything just clicks. When handler and dog become one, when the rhythm is perfect – and you know this is that one run you'll never forget.

We send our biggest congratulations to all the teams who qualified for the EO and AWC – we’ll be cheering for you in Portugal and Sweden!

Final thoughts: Galican is proud to be part of all this!

We’re incredibly proud to have been part of this amazing event – with our obstacles, our passion, and our whole heart for Agility. Now many teams are heading toward AWC and EO – and we say: Vamos!

You’ve got this. And somewhere in Portugal or Sweden, a Galican obstacle will be standing quietly, loyally, maybe even a little bit proudly, thinking:
“I was there.”
